2010 Jet Ski STX-15F

DOHC, 16-valve, fuel-injected, in-line Four engine displaces 1,498 cc and has a bore/stroke ratio of 83 x 69.2 mm. Compression is 10.6:1.

STX-12F-based engine features a unique design intake manifold that contributes to increased low- and mid-range performance. Acceleration performance is very impressive.

Corrosion resistant valves are fitted for high reliability in the marine environment.

Narrow valve angles (IN=12º, EX=13º) ensure a highly efficient combustion chamber shape.

Valve sizes are: 33.4 mm intake / 28.3 mm exhaust.

All-aluminum cylinder with electroplated bores is light, long wearing and offers superior heat dispersion.

Coolant water is force-fed from the jet pump. A filter at the inlet prevents debris from entering the system.

Front cam drive allows for an extremely tight valve angle for efficient engine breathing. Silent cam chain reduces mechanical noise.

The short, highly rigid crank offers tremendous torsional rigidity and facilitates small bearing journal sizes for low frictional loss. The forged crank rides in five plain bearings.

Double-walled water-cooled exhaust manifold provides efficient cooling.

Dual sound absorbing boxes are fitted for low exhaust noise while the large-capacity airbox reduces intake noise for quiet operation.


Electronic Fuel Injection


Electronic fuel injection system delivers hard-hitting throttle response. ECU controls ignition timing and fuel supply to ensure efficient running at all times.

Throttle body diameter of 60 mm ensures quick response and high power output at all rpm (STX-12F throttle body diameter is 54 mm).

EFI contributes to ultra-low exhaust emissions. The STX-15F clears the very strict U.S. CARB 2008 emissions regulations.

Digital transistorized ignition with timing sensor mounted on the front end of the crankshaft. Rev limiter, K-TRIC (TPS) sensor equipped.


Hull


A modified version of the 1200 STX-R hull, this lightweight, sporty-handling hull is hand-laminated and features a deep forward section and strakes for reduced wave shock. This superior design delivers the agile handling characteristics that sports riders love.

Injection-molded sponsons give sharp, clean turning performance and a very solid feel when banking.

Large-capacity fuel tank contains 62 litres for all day riding.

The molded hatch cover gives unit a modern, aggressive look.

Positioning the mirror mounts on the upper deck, instead of the hatch cover, also contributes to the sleek design.

Design theme of the hatch cover extends to the handle cover.

Attractive graphics package accentuates the STX-15F's dynamic lines.

Black hull gives it a more aggressive image.

Seat features a 2-tone stitching line that gives the boat's silhouette a sharper image and makes the seat appear thinner.

Triple Kawasaki Splash Deflector (KSD): A lateral strip on the forward sectionof the hull dramatically reduces water splash, especially at speed and in rough water.

High-performance keel line reduces friction while enhancing maneuverability and rider control.

Hull material is light yet strong Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP).

Integrated flotation cells make the STX-15F virtually impossible to sink.

Sturdy, full-circumference bumper design protects the hull.

Folding rear boarding step automatically retracts after use.

Other Features

Kawasaki Smart Steering can assist riders in learning to negotiate turns and to manoeuvre, making turning easier and smoother. Experienced riders may not feel the system functioning since they realize throttle application is required during turning.

Smart Learning Operation mode gives the rider the choice between limited power for easier training or full power for maximum fun. Selecting SLO on the dash limits maximum engine speed to approximately 5700-5800 rpm thereby reducing top speed to more manageable levels for new riders. Selecting Full Power Operation (FPO) restores normal operating engine speeds.

Multi-function digital instrumentation includes a digital speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, oil level, hour meter, trip meter, clock, and warning lights.

Capacious storage compartment located under the front hatch cover.

Large-capacity, automatic siphon bilge system helps remove water from the engine compartment when the craft is moving.

Wrist lanyard connected to the engine stop switch automatically stops the engine should the operator fall overboard.

MF-type battery reduces maintenance and is easy to install or remove.

Magnetic theft-deterrent main ignition switch helps protect the craft from unauthorized use.
